YOUR FLOOR DOESN'T HAVE TO BE COLD!

INSULATES SUSPENDED TIMBER FLOORS

YOUR CURE FOR COLD FLOORS

RetroviveFLOOR insulates underneath your traditional wooden floor WITHOUT pulling up all your floorboards.

We do this by lifting just a few floorboards, at intervals up to 8 feet apart, and fitting our unique 'hammocks' between the floor joists – into which we blow high-performance insulation that packs tightly into all corners, leaving no gaps.

The result is a layer of insulation that keeps the cold draughts OUT and your warm air IN.

Most of our time is spent downstairs so I thought it would make sense to go for it. This house has now become a HOME! Thank you and its money well spent.

HOW IT WORKS

Old houses have a ventilation space under the ground floor to prevent damp rising up from the ground.

But this also means cold air is constantly blowing just a floorboard-thickness beneath your feet – sucking heat out of your living space and sending chilly draughts up between the boards and under your skirting boards.

RetroviveFLOOR works twice to cure this problem: it adds a layer of insulation to keep your heat in, and it also blocks off the draughts.

Hi Stephen - just to let you know what an incredible difference your underfloor insulation system has made to the room. It is no longer the coldest, draughtiest room in the house, and instead is now one of the warmest. The recent cold snap has been almost unnoticeable!
— Mark Corti, Kent

The only other installation option is to pull up every floorboard, usually removing the skirting boards first, before being able to install the insulation: a process that often means repainting skirting and walls.

With RetroviveFLOOR, most of this is avoided. Because we're not dismantling your room in the first place, there's very little disruption.

Thank you for the excellent work done on Friday by Joe and Philip.
Since Friday’s work, I have observed that once the heating is switched off at 10pm (floor temperature of 19c) the heat retention in the lounge and bedroom is massively improved. The rooms’ floor temperature this morning was 15c/16c when it was 2c outside whereas before, the rooms’ floor temperature would have been about 11c-13c before the insulation. Draughts have been virtually eliminated.
— Christian in Croydon

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Of course, all rooms and jobs are different – but as a rough guide, the cost for most rooms ranges from £80-100/m2, depending on how many rooms are insulated at the same time, the total floor area, and other factors.

This not only compares favourably to replacing period windows with double-glazing, but is much more effective – the area insulated under a floor is typically many times larger than the window.

This means it can be possible to recoup your investment within 6-10 years.

PAYING FOR ITSELF

Our RetroviveFLOOR customers have reported saving up to 43% on their heating, as well as being much, much warmer compared with previous years.

This means that, although each situation is different, it can also be possible to realise a sensible payback period on your investment.

Despite a long, cold winter in 2012-13, one customer reported back the following energy-saving figures. Although we don't claim we could achieve this for every customer, people are surprised to discover just how much heat can be lost through the floor:

RetroFoot_Just-the-foot_angled2_35x30px.png
Average Daily Usage (KWh per day) winter/spring period:
Over this period last year = 76.66
Over this period (after Retrovive) = 43.85

What’s even more remarkable is we have had a quite prolonged cold spell compared to the year before too. The house is holding the heat much better now despite the mega insulation in the loft. The boiler doesn’t switch on so much hence the lower daily usage. Cheaper bills and a nice homely feel.

Thanks again for a good job.

"THIS HOUSE HAS NOW BECOME A HOME"

For most of our customers, saving on their bills is actually a secondary concern. Although heating bills will naturally be reduced by insulation, the crucial difference that Retrovive makes is to your enjoyment of your own home. Our customers are typically proud and enthusiastic homeowners who invest a lot of time and energy to make their home a special place for them. Retrovive is often the final piece of the puzzle – allowing you to truly enjoy the home that you've invested in.

INSTALLATION JUST AS YOU'D HAVE IT: QUICK, EFFICIENT, PROFESSIONAL – AND OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY

Our unique system often means we can insulate a whole room in just a single day – and leave it clean and tidy.

Because we blow our insulation in, there is minimal disruption and the installation is both quicker and less dusty than taking up an entire floor to install slab or batten types of insulation.

Ruth and I are very proud home owners and we set very high standards for any work that is carried out on our house. Jolyon and Jamie far exceeded all expectations we had in this regard. Their attention and care to detail, and their sheer willingness to get on with the job and do what needed to be done to finish it was nothing short of exemplary.
